D29: Bridlington to Filey: Flam Head
This was an amazing day.
In the latter part we were being circled by over one thousand Gannets.
NB
It's not my top priority to make Rupert Kirkwood jealous but it's pretty high up on the list.
This is the nearest I shall get this year I suspect.
I've no idea how he discovered a puffin on the way to the Eddystone. I reckon he carries a stuffed one around with him

Starting at 3.30 to pack my soaking tent and catch some tide and tail wind. The slog along the causeway beach will remain in my nightmares for a long time. As I reached Berwick on Tweed cliffs suddenly appeared to break the sand dictatorship. I missed lunching Berwick after assuming that there were two piers to the harbour and settled for some hot instant noodles instead. Suddenly I was back in my element, spectacular cliffs provided shelter from the strong offshore wind and I pootled along the final km to Eyemouth and the Cutty Sark Hotel, which is conveniently right next to the beach.
