Piel island is a friendly community of outsiders. Alex the able boatman helped me get on the water while we talked of nuclear transport and being trapped in the tip of South America during COVID. The Morecambe bay crossing was like something out of a Ghibli film. I got confused. It was very slow. The Blackpool bypass was magical. I took the bold decision to cross the Ribble estuary as the light faded. Having crossed the 500m to above the tideline with two heavy bags I had a hard time relocating Delelmza on the return to the sea in the rapidly waning light.

Link to the original facebook post D60: Life is complicated, People are nice, The World is Beautiful Complicated I discovered my trolley had broken having dragged it a kilometre to the seas edge. Trying to arrange a solution as you are paddling through big cross waves is quite a juggling act. Nice I stayed at the lovely Seacote Caravan Park, which appeared by magic yesterday evening in my moment of need. Great facilities and quiet and civilised punters. The camping fee is going to charity. Nice! Re trolley, I phoned a friend Mark Burton my, who drove quite a distance to appear at exactly the right moment with his portable workshop, move over "The Repair Shop" show, this is much better. Ps I didn't blub Beautiful As a result of failed kit and failure to plan I did an emergency stop opposite Ravenglass. Boy did I get lucky.
